This is a fusion class of Recording artist, EMP and DJ.  Students will create their own musical songs, and using music creation software such a Garage Band or Logic, students learn the fundamentals of arranging their own tracks and beats. They will explore a wide range of instruments and musical styles and will learn how to combine these elements to make original compositions.

Students build stronger rhythm, timing, coordination, memory and finger strength through a variety of music exercises and through playing classic and contemporary songs.  This class is for students with a basic mastery of the guitar, looking to advance their techniques.

Discover and explore the vibrant rhythms of West Africa in this fun and communal, hands-on drum class. You’ll learn basic techniques and call-and-response patterns, with the djembe, as you practice traditional songs in a shared group drumming experience.

The Institute gets asked to perform for local events, so we created Harmony BAND! Open to students who are proficient in an instrument. Must be available for rehearsal and performance opportunities. Interested students must audition to be considered.

Fun and interactive activities and songs engage students in the movement and music. Students practice vocal technique including proper breathing, support and control to improve the quality and strength of their singing voices. Using music creation software such a Garage Band or Logic, students take it up a notch and combine electronic music production skills and their voices to create their own original recordings either using a current hit, or their own personal song. Composing your own music and Music Production
