Financial Assistance

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Institute is committed to providing all children with equal access to the arts.  In addition

to providing subsidized tuition, we also offer need-based financial assistance to attend classes throughout the School Year and for Summer Arts Camp.  

Though we are not able to award full financial assistance or provide assistance for students taking only private lessons, we do try to help alleviate the costs for your family so your child(ren) can participate in our program.  

As a recipient of Financial Assistance 
Upon receiving Financial Assistance from The Institute of Music for Children, you will be required to complete the following before your child's program ends: 

Afterschool & Saturday Program (October – May)

You must enroll as a Member. This qualifies you for a lower rate, but there are requirements. Failure to fulfill your requirements will risk your eligibility for financial assistance in future programs. 

Volunteering

1 hour each semester per child. 
Example: 2 children enrolled for 24 weeks (2 semesters); you would have to volunteer for 4 hours by the end of the 24-week program.  

There are many opportunities to volunteer at the Institute from helping with our Snack Shack, helping with our fundraisers, to office organization. Teens enrolled in our program are welcome to volunteer. Volunteer opportunities are shared at our Membership Meetings and therefore, you must attend one Membership Meeting in order to find out the process for signing up for volunteer opportunities. 

Fundraising

Families are responsible for fundraising $50 per enrolled child OR donating $50 per enrolled child.  

Testimonial

A parent and/or student (12 years or older) must submit a testimonial sharing their experience with the Institute. The testimonial can be written (2 paragraphs or more) or in a video format, in English or in Spanish.

TO APPLY

Register for the program (School Year OR Summer). In the form, you will be asked if Financial Assistance is needed. Once selected and your registration is submitted, you will receive a call to make a Financial Assistance appointment.

AT THE APPOINTMENT:

You MUST bring the REQUIRED DOCUMENTS.  If you do not have the required documents, we will have to reschedule your appointment.

Required Documents: 

Last Year's Tax Return (or a letter of extension) OR an Income Verification Form. The Income Verification Form is available at the Institute office and can be filled out on the day of your appointment

Two consecutive pay stubs from your employer OR 

Any additional financial documents you can provide to verify income (for example: a letter from an employer, SSI/Disability/Unemployment Verification). 

The appointment may be up to 30 minutes long. Your responsibilities (donation/ fundraising/testimonial) will be scheduled during this appointment  

All information is kept private and is only used for funding purposes. 
 
 

We ask that you keep in contact with us and maintain clear communication if you have any questions/concerns about payment, payment schedule, or requirements. Failure to complete these requirements will result in loss of Financial Assistance and the family will be responsible for the total cost of the classes (at the Member Rate) and may be ineligible for assistance in future semesters. 

We encourage you to make your appointment and bring your documentation as soon as possible as financial assistance resources are limited, so you can plan accordingly.

AYUDA FINANCIERA  

 El Instituto se compromete a proporcionar a todos los niños igualdad de acceso a las artes.  Además de subvencionar la matrícula, también ofrecemos ayudas económicas para asistir a clases durante el curso escolar y para el campamento de verano.   

Aunque no podemos conceder una ayuda financiera completa o proporcionar ayuda a los estudiantes que toman sólo clases particulares, tratamos de ayudar a aliviar los costos para su familia para que su hijo (s) puede participar en nuestro programa.   

Como beneficiario de la ayuda financiera  

Al recibir asistencia financiera del Instituto de Música para Niños, se le pedirá que complete lo siguiente antes de que el programa de su hijo termine:  

Programa extraescolar y sabatino (Octubre - Aayo)  

Debe inscribirse como Miembro. Esto le califica para una tarifa más baja, pero hay requisitos. El no cumplir con los requisitos pondrá en riesgo su elegibilidad para recibir ayuda financiera en futuros programas.  

Voluntariado  

1 hora cada semestre por niño.  

Ejemplo: 2 niños inscritos durante 24 semanas (2 semestres); usted tendría que ser voluntario durante 4 horas al final del programa de 24 semanas.   

Hay muchas oportunidades para ser voluntario en el Instituto, desde ayudar con nuestro Snack Shack, ayudar con nuestras recaudaciones de fondos, hasta la organización de la oficina. Los adolescentes inscritos en nuestro programa son bienvenidos como voluntarios. Las oportunidades de voluntariado se comparten en nuestras Reuniones de Miembros y por lo tanto, usted debe asistir a una Reunión de Miembros con el fin de averiguar el proceso para inscribirse en oportunidades de voluntariado.

PARA APLICAR  

Inscríbase en el programa (Año Escolar O Verano). En el formulario, se le preguntará si necesita Asistencia Financiera. Una vez seleccionado y enviada su inscripción, recibirá una llamada para concertar una cita de Asistencia Financiera.   

EN LA CITA  

DEBE traer los DOCUMENTOS REQUERIDOS.  Si usted no tiene los documentos requeridos, tendremos que reprogramar su cita. 

Documentos necesarios:  

Declaración de la renta del último año (o una carta de prórroga) O un formulario de verificación de ingresos. El Formulario de Verificación de Ingresos está disponible en la oficina del Instituto y puede ser rellenado el mismo día de su cita.

Dos talones de pago consecutivos de su empleador O  

Cualquier documento financiero adicional que pueda proporcionar para verificar los ingresos (por ejemplo: una carta de un empleador, SSI / Discapacidad / Verificación de Desempleo).  

La cita puede durar hasta 30 minutos. Sus responsabilidades (donación/recaudación de fondos/testimonio) se programarán durante esta cita.   

Toda la información se mantiene en privado y sólo se utiliza con fines de financiación.

Le pedimos que se mantenga en contacto con nosotros y mantenga una comunicación clara si tiene alguna pregunta/preocupación sobre el pago, el calendario de pagos o los requisitos. El no cumplir con estos requisitos resultará en la pérdida de la Asistencia Financiera y la familia será responsable por el costo total de las clases (a la Tarifa de Miembro) y puede ser inelegible para recibir asistencia en semestres futuros.

Le animamos a que concierte su cita y traiga su documentación lo antes posible, ya que los recursos de asistencia financiera son limitados, para que pueda planificar en consecuencia.
